The Company Of Animals Halti Head Collar is designed to combine maximum steering efficiency with great comfort. There are no metal parts in contact with your dog's skin and the point of steering is well down the nose and away from the eyes. Halti also has on-off muzzling action to close dog's jaws. It makes training and behavior modification of dogs practical and safe. Available in sizes 1 to 5.

A Closer Look: The Company Of Animals Halti Head Collar can be used in a number of ways -- either as a passive means to simply stop dogs from pulling or as an active training aid. Handlers can gently direct the dog's head, steering them into desired positions, which can then be rewarded and linked to a command associated with that posture.

Comments about Halti Head Collar:
First, I have to say that I had a heard time trying to figure out the sizing for this head harness. I had to return my first guess at a size because it was way to small for my puppy.
Second, the product really didn't work for my dog. I know every dog is different but if your dog is as stubborn as mine this will not stop their pulling. It also got to the point that I would say we were going for a walk, he would get excited and run to the front door, see me pick up the head harness and immediately run away and hide from me. Probably not the best sign of a comfortable fit.
Comments about The Company Of Animals Halti Head Collar:
My dog is really hard to walk, but this collar works great. He is extremely strong, but I can correct him from pulling without using much force. My only negative comment is that some people think it looks like a muzzle and they make comments. They don't know what they are talking about, but it is still annoying.
Comments about Halti Head Collar:
I've been using Halti's for years. They are very effective at "halting" a dog from pulling on a leash. Similiar in design to the "Gentle Leader" but more durable, better fit and cheaper. The concept is that when the dog pulls it concentrates the force of the pull under the mouth which pulls the dog's head downward which they just don't like, it also happens to be a submissive position. So everytime a dog pulls, he's giving himself the message that it is not correct or comfortable. Unlike choke collars, which can actually crush a dogs windpipes and seem to have no effect at altering the behavior, the halti collar is very humane and cuases no pain, only discomfort.
In my experience it does take some time to get the dog used to the collar. Don't expect to put it on and go for a mile walk. Here's my technique for introducing it. For the first few days: let the dog sniff it, give treats. Put it on the dogs head for a second w/o latching, give treats. If those goes well put it and latch it for 30 seconds, treats, take it off. Depending on how the dog is reacting, go from there. Increase the amount of time the dog is wearing the collar without a leash attached until they handle it comfortably for a few minutes. For the first walk I would only use it for the first few minutes, then take it off. Next walk do ten minutes, slowing getting the dog used to it. (this routine is only necc for more difficult dogs, some will take to it immediately. But don't get discouraged if they scratch or bit at it at first)
