Comments about Canned Food - Chicken:

My cats are allowed outside, and sometimes I will see them eating a rabbit, mouse, etc. As far as what I feed them, they have been eating Nature's Logic canned cat food exclusively for a little over a month.

I used to free feed them dry food (which I no longer purchase - see below for the reason). Now I feed them three times a day. This schedule and food has increased their energy levels noticeably.

They are 14 and 13.5 years old and they run around and play together more often.

This is the best cat food I have found that I can afford. It is definitely worth the price!

Both of my cats like the chicken fare, but they do like the duck+salmon and rabbit fare dinners more. I would still recommend the chicken fare over a lot of brands. One reason is Nature's Logic products do not contain "wheat, corn, rice, soy, potato or chemically synthesized vitamins, minerals, or trace nutrients." That was pulled directly from their website. Another reason is not one of the ingredients is sourced from China, and they are tested for GMOs (genetically modified organisms). Read the claims for yourself at and

There are many brands that cut costs of production at the expense of your pet's health. One in particular is Purina. Every variant of Purina One Smart Blend canned food (for cats), that is listed on their website contains ingredients I would not feed myself or my cats. Here are some of those ingredients: artificial flavors; modified corn starch (likely genetically engineered); and/or corn oil (likely GE); menadione (synthetic vitamin K3).

Here is a link to the MSDS on menadione:

It seems many experts can't agree on whether cats should eat only dry food or only canned food or a combination thereof. Sure, kibble is better than no food at all, but to me it makes more sense to feed a cat a diet similar to what it would hunt (rabbits, mice, birds, squirrels and so on). These prey are not naturally dehydrated kibble, obviously, so why feed your feline a low moisture diet?

In conclusion I would research these topics on your own. I wish I had a long time ago. You will likely find conflicting articles. Use your noggin and decide what you believe.

Comments about Canned Food - Chicken:

My kitten is not a picky eater, but he will not touch this food. I wasn't happy with the smell either. He does, however, love the Nature's Logic rabbit.
