My calico sits by the toy every night at 8:30 until 9:30 when I go to bed - she can't wait for this to play! When the batteries get low, she follows me and watches and butts the toy to make sure I am putting new batteries in right. A little noisy, but she quickly got used to it - I have recommended this to others as well.

Unless you have one of those cats that loves loud weird random noises (??) this is not the cat toy for you. My princess just about had a heart attack when I turned it on. She wearily eyed it and didn't move at all. She looked totally freaked out. Maybe better for big dogs?

Cat loved chasing the laser beam. I thought the concept was good and the construction seems solid. Only problem was the noise, not sure of the decibles but the clicking, clacking sound was so loud it gave me a headache in less than 10 min. After playing Cat was shaking his head like something was bothering him. Called the company and they were very friendly but said there was no way to shut off the noise.

As mentioned, it is a bit loud. It has a rattly sound but once our two cats got over that, they seem to enjoy it. It has a randomizer so the laser spot is not predictable and the cats like to try to catch the red spot. I wonder how the smaller one would be.
