Comments about Forti-Diet Pro Health - Mouse, Rat & Hamster:
One of my rabbits won't eat "rabbit pellets" at all, so I wanted to try and find her another "diet". She LOVES these "cookies". Most rabbit pellets are made with alfalfa, which isn't that great for adult rabbits to begin with. This particular rabbit won't eat alfalfa. Most rabbit treats have alfalfa in them, as a base or filer. So I wanted to find her something nutritious to eat and tried these. Both my rabbits love them. I rotate them with vegetarian dog biscuits, and I have happy, shiny, bright eyed, busy rabbits.
Because these and dog biscuits are block/baked style, (must be nibbled) they help keep the rabbits teeth in check. So I would say, rather than relying on "complete diets", vary your pets diet by offering many different things in moderation, "diet" block or pellets were made as an easy way to meet the dietary needs of farmed rabbits, and "lab", rats & mice. But just like a human would get bored of a single food item the rest of their life, so do critters. So if you want to feed a "complete"diet, feed treats, fresh greens/herbs/carrot tops/peels, tomato ends, shelled sunflower or pumpkin seeds, nuts, fruit, grass, grain plants amaranth, broccoli, corn plant, comfrey, sorrel, coriander, escarole, leaf lettuces, parsley leaves, etc., as well as the diet. Vegetarian dog biscuits, are great because they have veggies in them, like sweet potatoes, tomatoes, grain flours, quinoa, parsley, fruits apples, blueberries, etc. in a non spoiling form.
This keeps the rabbits busy and happy.
