        Comments about Wood Tortoise House:

I am using this for two Russian tortoises. The 'floor' of the enclosure is thin 'tongue and groove' over 1/4 inch plywood - which is a place for debris and moisture to collect, so I applied three coats of polyurethane to facilitate cleaning and protect the raw wood. I also substituted better screws. This unit is well designed, functional and the 'floor plan' allows for easy movement. The tortoises acclimated immediately and use both the 'burrow' side and basking area freely. Glad I made this purchase.

          Comments about Wood Tortoise House:

Bought this for my baby leopard tortoise. Plenty big for just a hatchling, will need something bigger after a year or two. Nice quality, easy to assemble, and looks pretty good. I used a drill, so assembly was really quick. But a screwdriver would work just as well. Much better than using a rubbermaid tote thing, like many people use. The smaller top piece is a bit warped and didn't fit exactly, but no big deal, it's only noticeable if you look really close. Some of the screw holes were not actually there but the wood is soft enough to start a hole pretty easily and then screw it in the rest of the way by hand. Overall I'm very pleased with this tortoise home! Also, the customer service at Wag.com is great! After ordering I was informed it would not make the two day shipping, but ended up arriving in two days anyway. And they threw in some T-rex tortoise food for FREE! Which was awesome of them. That said, I will be doing most of my shopping for tortoise supplies with them!

          Comments about Wood Tortoise House:

I bought 2 and have them hooked together. If you plan to do the same, purchase small metal straps with screws ahead of time to hold them together. The houses are made of cedar so I have no concern with moisture but I did put a small metal cookie sheet under the water bowl. Have plenty of bark on hand. I had to order more. Depth keeps moisture off the floor and allows the tortoise to burrow. He has lots of room to roam. My son had them put together in very little time. Holes did line up. Everything was great and it is good looking. So worth the money. It arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Highly recommend!!!

            Comments about Wood Tortoise House:

It is big and easy to assemble. It took about 20 minutes to put together and my Russian tortoise loves it. It's strong enough to be carried around with all the dirt and bowls in place. It's well designed for a tortoise.
