Rimadyl is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs, and control of postoperative pain associated with soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries in dogs. Rimadyl works by reducing hormones that cause pain and inflammation in your dog's body. Rimadyl chewables come in a flavored tablet and readily accepted and consumed on first offering by a majority of dogs.
Dogs (at least 6 weeks of age)
Rimadyl is used in dogs for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, as well as the control of post-operative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
Rimadyl should not be used in dogs exhibiting previous hypersensitivity to carprofen. Do not use on cats. Rimadyl is not recommended for use in dogs with bleeding disorders (e.g., Von Willebrand's disease), as safety has not been established in dogs with these disorders. The safety of this medication has not been evaluated in pregnant, breeding, or nursing animals. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
