I bought this to contain our new bulldog puppy in certain areas of the house. We have a one story home so I've never had to buy a babygate for any of my children so this was new to me. Once I figured out how to unlock this (just follow the directions, I was just a little slow) it's a breeze. The locking mechanism on this is much safer and easier to use than other gates I've seen at friends houses and you don't need to screw anything into your woodwork! I would highly recommend. I would also say that this will work even when our bulldog is full grown if needed. Once locked, its very sturdy so unless your dog was big enough to jump over it I would say it would withstand a larger dog trying to knock it down.
