Product Information

Nature's Variety Raw Frozen Diets are meant to mirror what dogs and cats would eat in the wild. Instinct Raw Frozen products consists of 95% meat, organs, bones & fat and 5% fruits and vegetables. They are completely grain and gluten free. Instinct Raw requires no mixing or measuring, and certainly no cooking! It is available in a wide variety of proteins to provide a variety of healthy choices.

  • Grains and gluten may contribute to pet allergies. By eliminating these from Instinct Raw Frozen Diets, the chance for allergic reaction is reduced.
  • A diet consisting primarily of raw meat, organs, bone, and fat reflects what your pet would eat in the natural habitat.
  • Pet health improvements may include freedom from allergies, increased energy, weight management, improved skin and coat, and less backyard cleanup.
  • The fruits and vegetables provide beneficial vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote health and well-being.
  • Nature's Variety takes extra care to ensure that the Instinct Raw Frozen Diets are free of pathogenic bacteria. They utilize a state-of-the-art manufacturing process called High Pressure Processing (HPP). In essence, HPP uses water pressure to kill harmful bacteria. They also enforce a strict "test and hold" protocol to ensure that all Raw Diets leaving their facilities are free of harmful bacteria like Salmonella and E. Coli.
  • Instinct Raw Frozen Diets include ground bones in the proper proportion that your dog and cat would have enjoyed in the wild. Raw bone is an excellent source of minerals, essential fatty acids, proteins, and enzymes. They are also a balanced source of calcium and phosphorus, and a natural source of chondroitin for joint health.
  • Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Frozen Diets provide complete and balanced nutrition for dogs and cats, all life stages and all breeds.

Serving Instructions:
Instinct Raw Frozen Diets are convenient and ready to serve without the need for mixing or measuring.

1. Bites do not have to be defrosted and can be scooped directly from the bag. Looks & serves just like kibble!
2. Keep raw medallions/patties/chubs frozen until ready to defrost.
3. Defrost your pet's daily portion by thawing it in a covered container in the refrigerator. (Medallions take about 4-6 hours to defrost in the refrigerator, while patties and chubs may require 8 to 10 hours.)
4. Serve thawed medallions/patties/chubs in your pet's stainless steel dish. Food should still be cold to the touch when served.

I have a small five pound cat who has had several issues: depth perception was WAY off, lack of energy for being a young cat, chronic diarrhea, moody, gas pains, her coat was starting to become extremely dull.. and many others. I started looking into raw foods to put her on and I bought this just as a trial. My "trial" has still yet to end with her, since putting her on this food her coat has become softer and even more full, her eyes have become brighter and she falls off shelves less, her mood is so much more enjoyable, diarrhea is vanished, gas is gone, she has so much energy she's become the cat version of the energizer bunny.

I love this food for her, and eventually will be putting any future pets on it as well.

I recommend this to everybody who has an animal with the want to feed them healthier.

Comments about Instinct Raw Frozen Chicken Medallions for Dog & Cat:

I had 2 cats, one a feline diabetic diagnosed 8 yrs ago, who died in early Dec 2012. I had tried to get them both to eat the raw food after he was first diagnosed. Neither of them particularly liked what I offered so I stuck w/ my Fancy Feast classics. On a whim, I tried the INSTINCT RAW CHICKEN MEDALLIONS for my 14 y/o orange tabby. He inhaled the food. I've never seen him eat like this! I thawed one, and then warmed it in warm water, and put it in his dish and before I rinsed off the spoon, it was gone! Ordered a larger bag and I'm deliriously happy that he loved it!
