Comments about Pureformance - Freeze Dried Rabbit - 10 lb:
I feel fortunate to have discovered this formula for my dog. I have had Westies all my life. This breed is prone to skin and enviornmental allergies, so I have always made their food. The dog I have now has all these issues and more. She is 12 years old now and she has responded positively to the use of this food. Some could be my diligent skin care routine, but I also believe it also has to do with this formula. It is grain free, but this formula does not use potatoes. It uses chickpeas, which being a carb is also a protein and fiber source. My dog does get extra fruits and vegetable as treats throughout the day, but the only things I supplement her food with is one teaspoon of coconut oil.
I have learned that if you have a special needs dog, you have to be careful with every type and source of food they consume. For some dogs, potatoes are not good for them. It is high glycemic food and can contribute to additional stress and health issues to the body. The other positive benefit, is this food is packed with fiber. My dog has suffered with both diarrhea and constipation her entire life. Now she has normal bowel movements every day.
Rehydrating the food is not problem at all. I make large batches and freeze them in portion control containers. We also travel in a motorhome and we just reheat in the microwave.
Even if you don't have a special need dog, I would try this food.
