Comments about Daily-Cat Cuisine Venison Real Meat:

One out of 4 of my cats Loves this venison. The other 3 seem to also enjoy it. Tried the Ziwi lamb, which they will eat, but Venison is the obvious favorite. It's not their only food ( I feed mostly canned or raw), but I leave it out as sort of a 'kibble' substitute.
I do add water, and keep it moist as possible.
I tried calling the company several times regarding adding water, etc, but they NEVER answer. There is a recorded message which assures you they will get back to you.... but they do not.

Comments about Daily-Cat Cuisine - Lamb Real Meat:

This food really didn't come in the form I was expecting. With dehydrated food, I am used to a form that's kibble-like, but needs to be rehydrated (like Stella & Chewy's). This is more like a very flat moist treat that's not very moist. I couldn't really rehydrate it (I try to add water to all of her foods to avoid chronic dehydration). It's very dense. It is also very smelly (for those averse to off smells). What I do like about it, however, is that it's shelf-stable and can be left out for long periods without worry, unlike raw and canned foods. She's gotten used to it, but because of its flatness itseems hard for her to pick up out of the bowl without some maneuvering. It's not her favorite food, but it's healthy, high protein/low filler, and a good thing to rotate into her diet. It will be great for when we go on vacation.

Comments about ZiwiPeak Daily-Cat Cuisine - Lamb Real Meat:

Unfortunately my cats are not going for the lamb very much, but I have a friend who has cats who are gaga for it. So my order sadly becomes a gift for them. Hopefully my cats will someday crack and eat some stuff better for them.

I am a believer that this is a high-quality product, but can't make the cats eat it.

The best balance of raw and dry!

Comments about Daily-Cat Cuisine - Lamb Real Meat:

ZiwiPeak is pricey but the quality cannot be beat - it is a fanastic product for anyone looking to feed their animals the highest quality ingredients in both a raw and dry food.

If you're having a hard time figuring out what makes a food "quality", just look at the ingredients and then find out what company is making it. Look for whole protein sources as the first ingredients (not fillers like grains or lower quality protein "meal"), and then keep reading - Ziwi Peak is made from whole proteins, locally sourced and air-dried. The nutritional profile is intact, and the quality is superb. Additionally, it's not owned by some giant corporation, so there is less chance of outsourced ingredients and recalls.

For anyone hoping to feed a raw diet, but finding the frozen or fresh raw options a challenge, this is your food. Other benefits? Smaller, less frequent, and nealry odorless feces, shiny coats, less shedding, healthier animal, and to date we've had no incidences of UTIs or other common cat ailments. Love this food! (I do mix it with a little Acana Grasslands or Pacifica, and some fresh or frozen raw food too).

To me, the cost of a quality food is offset by the fact that you have healthier animals, meaning less medical expenses. Totally worth it.

I feed ZiwiPeak to my 3 dogs too, mixed with fresh or frozen raw foods, and Acana (my other favorite brand) Grasslands (one dog is allergic to chicken, one to gluten, and one to wheat, and this feeds all 3!) to make it a little more cost effective. It also is the perfect training treat for dogs.

I run a working breed dog rescue, am a behaviorist, and have studied companion animal nutrition for over 20 years. I give ZiwiPeak an enthusiastic 5 stars!

Comments about Daily-Cat Cuisine - Lamb Real Meat:

I do think this is an exceptional food, although I use it as treats. My two younger cats agree. My older Russian Blue does not. She ate a few pieces when I first got it. Then when I would give her a piece, just to make sure she proved her point, she would knock it around and walk away. I had to get her some of the Wellness chicken and lamb treats so she can enjoy a treat too. Darla and Mabel seem quite happy with this though.
