Comments about Puka Puka Luau Chicken In Consomme - 12x2.8oz:

My cat suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, which has resulted in a lot of tummy aches and bouts of diarrhea. I changed my little girl's diet completely by taking her off kibble and feeding her only Tiki for Cats brand wet food. I feed my cat the Tiki Chicken in Chicken Consomme. Occasionally, I will give her one of Tiki's canned fish, like Ahi Tuna or Chicken and Salmon (most of the Tiki foods are fish -- wish they would add some other meats).

Tiki consists of pieces of real, whole meat and fish -- not a ground-up pate -- supplemented with some vitamins and minerals. There are no grains, cereals, suspicious meat by-products, gums, fillers, or questionable supplements, like menadione (man-made vitamin k-3, which is not allowed for human consumption in the USA).

This diet change has been very beneficial to my cat. She has had only normal bowel movements since I put her on Tiki for Cat foods about 4 months ago. When I found her abandoned (a year ago), she had hyperthyroidism and was at the origins of kidney disease, so I get her blood checked every three months. All recent blood counts, liver, kidney, etc., were normal, which I attribute to the new mostly meat- and fish-only diet. Once on Tiki for Cats, I noticed fewer bowel movements than previously. I became concerned that my cat was constipated, but it turns out the meat only diet is better absorbed by the body with little waste, resulting in fewer bowel movements. If this happens to your cat, however, you should still seek your vet's opinion; I'm not a veterinarian.

Tiki animal foods are made in Thailand in the same facility where human foods are made. According to the manufacturer, the cans do not contain BHT or other toxic materials.

My girl doesn't really like chicken (even when I make it for her), so I mix a little Evo Chicken/Turkey into it, just enough to coat the chicken a little. She loves Evo Chicken/Turkey (not the Evo 95% meat brand, a pate, which worsened her irritable bowel symptoms; probably too strong). Evo Chicken/Turkey has fruits and vegetables in it, and I suspect it was too much fiber for my cat. The one thing I don't like about Evo is the carageenan, which is a no-nutritional value material suspected of being toxic to animals. Evo already adds the more acceptable guar gum, so why is carageenan necessary? The small quantity she gets now just to make the chicken more palatable to her seems to be just right. Also, once I started adding a little Evo, my cat's bowel movements increased (a clear sign that there was extra fiber waste).

    I recommend Tiki for Cats.

Comments about Puka Puka Luau Chicken In Consomme - 12x2.8oz:

I like giving Friday Tika Puka Puka because it is human grade food (as all canned cat food should be). I know she is eating lean and healthy.
