Comments about ScoopFree Original Self-Cleaning Litter Box:
I tried every litter out there and hated the rank odors I would come home to. I cleaned the box daily, sometimes twice! With this indulgent but worthwhile purchase, I can enjoy our pets without stressing about the stink. If you want your house to smell clean, these sparkling blue crystals and self-cleaning bin are the way to go-- and worth the extra dollars.

Comments about ScoopFree Original Self-Cleaning Litter Box:
I've tried many types of litter & box combinations over the years, and I love this one!
Super easy to assemble & maintain, there is virtually no odor. I live in a small space, so odor control is very important!
Changing the trays is easy, and you never, ever touch waste.
Downside, you have to purchase the specialized trays which are a bit more expensive than traditional litter.
Also, this model does not allow for any adjustments. The rake starts 20 minutes after use, which is longer than necessary for my cat. I might have upgraded to the model that has adjustable settings, knowing this.

Comments about ScoopFree Original Self-Cleaning Litter Box:
I have owned this litter box for two years and am throwing it out. I have replaced it with a less expensive, non-electric litter box that is easier to maintain.
Issues:
(1) The disposable litter trays do not last a month, unless you are comfortable living with steadily-increasing cat urine and feces smell. Expect to pay and pay and pay to replace the trays every week or two.
(2) The rake gets feces stuck to it and rusts. I followed the instructions and was diligent with cleaning, but it becomes very difficult to clean over time.
(3) Odor control is not that great, and I have the optional hood. Basically this sweeps the feces into a partially-enclosed cardboard chamber, so you can still more or less smell it. Also the urine remains mixed into the crystals and is never removed until you change the tray, so the crystals your cat is tracking around the house are contaminated with--guess what?--urine and more smell.
Sometimes simpler is better. I am much happier with my non-electric litter box, which i just roll over and clean daily. My cat seems happier too. Cats have much more sensitive noses than humans and if something smells so bad that I notice it, the cat is already unhappy.
