There is no better dry food for kittens

Royal Canin Baby Cat food is the best on the market. I've been doing animal rescue for 30 years and when a kitten is tranitioning from nursing to solid food it can get tricky. For starters RC is the only brand that I have found that makes the kibble size small enough that a baby cat can comfortably eat it. Kittens have died of starvation because the cat chow they were given was too large to eat. Secondly they love the taste and will happily chow down on it and leave Mom alone.(I jokingly refer to it as kitty crack) Which brings me to the third benefit which is that nursing queens love it as much as their babies.Keeping weight on some moms with big litters can be a struggle.I don't know what the calorie count is butI have found the nursing queens that share the baby cat RC have an easier time holding their own.The only negative is the cost.If $ was no option, I would allways have it on hand. However,as a nurse, with 5 or more foster cats and kittens at any given time I can't allways justify the expence, once the kitten is completely weaned.
