      Comments about Lebistro Programable Feeder:

I need to amend my previous review.

There IS a way to skip a meal if you only want 2/3. I don't think it was clearly stated in the instructions, but my husband figured it out! So we CAN feed our dog 1/2 cup for breakfast, select NO lunch, and feed him 1/2 cup for dinner.

I still think the top is a bit flimsy and the portioning may be slightly off.

I've since realized that sometimes my dog can finagle a few extra mouthfuls of food from the feeder due to the "windmill" style of the dispensing bit, but he's part dachshund and has a nose that sort of fits in there. He's also a bit of a challenge. I don't think most dogs would do this.

The only other thing that I dislike is that if you need to turn it off for any reason, the entire clock must be reset when the machine is turned back on.

      OVERALL:

YES!!! Buy this product if it peaks your interest! It is great to be able to run from Seattle to Bellevue or Auburn for a few hours and not worry about if/ when our dog is eating. All we have to stay on top of are walks/ potty breaks and we are good to go.

I even think this may be contributing to the success we're having with curbing our dog's separation anxiety.

      FANTASTIC!

      Comments about Lebistro Programable Feeder:

My first impression upon taking the product out of the box was that I was glad I'd gotten it during a big sale.

The plastic material of the "hopper" is very thin-- my first thought was actually "kinda flimsy."

I also wonder about the plastic material of the bowl & whether it will eventually cause acne issues on our pet's chin as I have had this issue with other pets in the past. If your pet has this type of issue, stick to a ceramic or stainless steel bowl.

I should also note that some dogs-- large ones or those who are extra mischievous/destructive/clever-- may be able to get the lid off if they are kept in the same area as the food dispenser (esp. in cases of separation anxiety). It is a pretty simple twisting top that I got off quite easily without twisting a few times.

      The meal portions can be set in quarter-cup increments (1/4; 1/2; 3/4; 1; 1-1/4; 1-1/2...) up to 3 cups.

There are 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), all of which must be set to dispense at least 1/4 cup.

They must also be set a few minutes apart.

This is an issue for me because we feed our dog twice a day, so we would've prefered the option to skip one of the meals or set it to zero cups. The problem with it needing to be set for at least a few minutes apart is that our dog eats 1/4 cup so quickly that he is already done with it before the second 1/4 cup dispenses & he usually won't eat all his food in the morning if we don't feed him right away. He doesn't realize there's more coming because it takes too long.

I also think the measurements run small. I'm tempted to over-estimate in order to give my dog enough to eat. I have also had the machine randomly miss. A meal here or there.

      Overall:
I will say, though, that for the most part it's nice to know our dog will be fed on time no matter if we run late or need to be gone or lose track of time. It's a pretty nice way to keep on track with a schedule that can be deceptively demanding. If there's ever a 2.0 version, we'd love an upgrade, but for now, this will do.
