I have 3 cats & 2 litter boxes. I was buying premium clumping litter in huge boxes almost weekly. I can't carry them in due to back surgery, but when my daughter couldn't carry it in either it was time for a change. My daughter and grandson both are asthmatics and had trouble breathing when visiting me. My clumping litter said "99% dust free". They lied. This litter IS dust free, odor free, no urine smell (and I changed my litter constantly with the clumping litter). All in all the pricing is almost exactly the same as the clumping since I changed it so much to help my daughter be able to breathe in my home. She doesn't have any problems now, whereas before she would run in and run out almost immediately. Now she can visit. There are very few trips to the dumpster with the litter "mess" which helps me due to back problems also. Those clumping litters get heavy! If you rake the Litter Pearls often, it lasts longer than they say. I was shocked by this! The little bit of litter that does get out of the litter box is very easy to clean up since the product is so lightweight. It is much easier than trying to clean up clumping litter...which sort of ended up like scraping wet cement off your floor if you used a cleaner/disinfectant on it. I am an extremely happy customer and I am on a fixed income. The only drawback I could see in the beginning was the price. That is not a drawback if you follow the instructions correctly. My cats are very happy with the Micro Crystals & had no problem changing over. My one cat who is "The Explorer", started eating it. He didn't like it, stuck his tongue out, and still ate it. He stopped eating it about the time I was going to pick up the phone and call Customer Service. I don't have any negatives about the product. It is a fantastic cat litter on many levels. I would recommend it to all cat owners.
