Comments about Long Hair deShedding Tool for Large Cats:

I impulsively bought this, and I have no regrets. I have two large long-hair cats, with grayish-white fur. Being a New Yorker and only having a wardrobe consisting of black, blacker, and blackest, I needed to curb the shedding and this did the trick! I give them a brief brushing everyday with a regular brush. But twice week, I have a "de-shedding" session with them. The cats don't love it, but they are getting used to it. It's amazing to see all the hair you remove that could have been on your clothes/bed/house. Just don't overdo it!

Comments about Long Hair deShedding Tool for Large Cats:

I had been considering this de-shedding tool for my 15 lb. black cat. He sheds heavily & has terrible dandruff! But I'm always hesitant to spend a lot of money on a tool that may or may not really work like it says. A few months ago I had taken him to the vet to get a regular checkup & fish oil caps for his coat. I asked her about the Furminator & she said she used one with her own cat at home & loves it!! She did however, recommend that you "know when to say when!" she said it's so effective & since it doesn't hurt your cat, you can continue to brush until you create a bald spot!! Yikes!! So just be sure to use your best judgement. I always wet a paper towel slightly & run it down his back to pick up the rest of the shed. My only actual concern since I've been using it is that my cat actually gets a little freaked out seeing the amount of hair when I push it down out of the comb! lol :) I love it!!
