Comments about Feline Pine Original Cat Litter:
I went looking for a cat litter which was not as dusty as regular clumping litter. After trying several other alternative litters, I happened on the concept of compressed pine pellets. These are basically sawdust smashed into short sticks. When they get wet they expand into damp sawdust. The pine tree scent is not heavy, but enough to keep buried cat poo from stinking.
The only challenge to using this stuff compared to clumping litter is how to do clean-up. With clumping litter you can just remove all the large chunks. However, the scoop required to do that with this stuff would need to have much bigger holes. And the powdery stuff in the bottom of the box will fall through a regular catbox scoop.
A 10 pound bag will last about two weeks in our two-cat box if cleaned every other day. If we are not so diligent, about a week.
