Chief Executive Officer
Maria joined Quidsi as CEO in July 2013, after having served as Amazon's Vice President of Physical Media & Canada. In that role, she led all physical media categories, where she managed the on-site customer experience and merchandising, buying, inventory planning and marketing for books, movies, music, video games and software, as well as heading the development of key vendor relationships. She also oversaw Amazon.ca, directing growth strategy and ensuring that Amazon.ca continued to develop compelling offerings and provided the best possible shopping experience for Canadian customers.
Since joining Amazon in 1999, Maria served in many leadership positions, managing Amazon's Consumables group and launching popular customer categories such as Beauty, Health & Personal Care and Grocery. In addition, she led the marketing communications department, managing all research and execution of all offline marketing activities. More recently, she was President of MYHABIT and Vice President of Jewelry & Watches, Shoes and Endless.com. In 2011, Maria launched MYHABIT.com, an online private sale fashion site from Amazon, offering members-only prices up to 60 percent off premium and boutique brands for women, men and children.
Prior to joining Amazon, Maria worked in Brand Management at Kraft Foods, Inc. Before joining Kraft, she worked for Hallmark Cards, Inc. and Nelson & Associates. She holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in Interior Design from Drexel University in Philadelphia. A native of New Jersey, she now lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
Senior Vice President, Consumables
Sharon leads Quidsi's retail consumables businesses — Diapers.com, Soap.com, Wag.com and VineMarket.com — which are committed to fast, free shipping and award-winning, 24/7 customer care. Launched in 2005, Diapers.com grew quickly to become the largest online baby care specialty site in the U.S., promising busy parents everywhere: "We Deliver Everything but the Baby." Five years later, Soap.com, an online drugstore, debuted as "The End of an Errand." Wag.com, a pet specialty site, joined the family in 2011 with the command, "You Sit. We Fetch." Most recently, VineMarket.com launched, promising a way to "Shop Simply. Eat Naturally." Quidsi's 10 sites, united by a single checkout and the same spectacular speed and service, offer the easiest way for families to shop.
Before joining Quidsi, Sharon spent 12 years in the consumer packaged goods industry in brand management. Most recently she worked at Unilever in their Ice Cream business leading brand development for Frozen Novelties for North America. Prior to that, Sharon worked at Kraft Foods, Inc., as the Director of Marketing for the Powdered Beverage portfolio including brands like Crystal Light, Country Time and Kool-Aid. During her tenure, Crystal Light won several awards for outstanding advertising and innovation. Other brands Sharon has worked with include Balance Bar, Baker's Chocolate and Post Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles Cereal. Prior to her career in brand management, Sharon worked as a management consultant in financial services at Oliver Wyman.
Sharon received her MBA from Harvard Business School. While there, she co-authored an HBS case study series on Nantucket Nectars. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan, where she earned a BS degree in Industrial Operations Engineering and was elected to Alpha Pi Mu, Tau Beta Pi and was also named a Marian Sarah Parker Scholar. She lives in Westchester, New York, with her husband and two sons.
Category Leader, Pets
Tim leads the Pets business across Quidsi's family of sites, helping deliver best-in-show pet products and convenience. He manages the merchandising, marketing, and supply chain operations for the category and also oversees the strategy and vision for Wag.com. Prior to this role, he directed Quidsi's Cross-Site team, which focused on promoting customer interaction with all 10 brands in the family of sites. In that capacity, he oversaw many company-wide initiatives and marketing efforts, including paid search, display advertising, social media, email, and PR.
Tim started his career at Deloitte Consulting as a Business Analyst. Between 2002 and 2008, Tim worked in Brand Management at Kraft Foods, managing brands like Grey Poupon and Shake 'N Bake. Prior to Quidsi, he was the Co-founder & CEO of Kasa Indian Eatery, a fast-casual Indian food concept based in San Francisco that includes two restaurants, two mobile food trucks, and corporate catering. The restaurant has won several awards, including Best Meal Under $15 from 7x7 Magazine and Best New Restaurant from SF Weekly.
Tim graduated with a BA in Economics from Calvin College, spent a semester in an independent study program at Oxford University, and earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. He and his wife and three children live in New York City. And despite their tight quarters, they are looking to add a puppy to the family.
Chief Financial Officer
Randy oversees the Accounting, Tax, and Finance functions at Quidsi with a focus on controllership, economic strategy, and forecasting.
Prior to joining Quidsi, Randy served for six years as Central Finance Director for Tesco's U.S. venture, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market), where he helped launch the L.A.-headquartered business and was responsible for FP&A, Accounting, Tax and Treasury & Payroll. Previously, he held a number of finance roles at Taco Bell and spent time working in New York in mergers & acquisitions.
Randy earned a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from University of California — Irvine. After having lived on the West Coast for a dozen years, Randy is excited to return to his New Jersey roots — with his wife, daughter and dog — to start a new chapter at Quidsi.
Chief Information Officer
Prasad leads the technology team that is focused on ecommerce development, infrastructure, enterprise applications and information security. Before joining Quidsi, Prasad was CIO at Hanover Direct, where he led the IT organization in its support of the technological and operational needs of the business. He oversaw the implementation of strategic technology platforms and, as part of the executive team, helped transition the company from a catalog-based channel to a multi-channel e-commerce business. While there, he also spearheaded website launches for The Company Store, Scandia Home and UnderGear. Earlier in his career, Prasad spent several years at Tommy Hilfiger, where he oversaw ecommerce and enterprise applications development, information security and strategic planning as Director of Retail IT.
Prasad graduated from Nagarjuna University in India with a BS in Engineering. He lives in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, with his wife and three children. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis.
Chief Technology Officer
Before joining Quidsi, Wei was the president of Suryani International for more than 10 years. Suryani, a small web application development company with a focus on e-commerce application development, catered to clients ranging from large financial institutions such as Citibank to mid-size retail and wholesale companies. Suryani developed the original Diapers.com system that enabled the company to manage entire operations through a web-based system.
Senior Vice President, Online Marketing Platforms & Business Development
Michal and his team develop the platforms that drive Quidsi's online marketing capabilities, and he also oversees company-wide advertising strategies and business development initiatives. Before coming to Quidsi, Michal managed Amazon's Global Gift Card program, and developed Amazon's Couponing business. Prior to Amazon, he directed the Product Management and Emerging Businesses divisions of Digital Insight — a developer of online products and services for financial institutions, and co-founded multiple technology companies.
Michal earned a BA in Computer Science from Harvard University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. A native of Colorado, Michal now lives in New York with his wife and five children. They love spending time outdoors, traveling, and relaxing at home.
Vice President, Human Resources
Jen has been with Quidsi since its early days in the cramped Montclair, New Jersey, office, and has helped build the staff from just a few employees to well over a thousand. She oversees HR operations for the corporate headquarters, three warehouses and the Beauty Bar store.
Before coming to Quidsi, Jen had more than 15 years of progressive human resources generalist experience in the publishing and media industries. She held various roles at Scholastic, Bertelsmann and Time, Inc., helping align the HR function to corporate goals and missions.
Jen attended Fairfield University in Connecticut, studying English and Art History, and has degrees in Human Resources Management from both New York University and New School University. She lives with her husband and twin daughters in Maplewood, New Jersey.
Vice President, User Experience & Creative
Tara heads up the Creative and User Experience teams in shaping the branding and on-site customer experience for Quidsi's portfolio of verticals. Prior to joining Quidsi in 2008, she was Owner and Creative Director of Three Wishes Studio, a boutique branding and design agency in northern New Jersey that included Diapers.com as a client. Specializing in smaller, woman-owned businesses, Three Wishes Studio created identities and comprehensive brand platforms for clients throughout the country. Earlier in her career, Tara worked in the fragrance supplier industry, developing creative product concepts and presentations for brands such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Bath & Body Works, Cody and Giorgio Beverly Hills. Tara earned her B.A. in Graphic Design, cum laude, from Montclair State University and lives in New Jersey with her husband, Jon, and their two children.
Vice President, Customer Care
Prior to joining Quidsi, Mike worked as Vice President of Customer Service at ThePit.com, an earlier venture started by Quidsi co-founders Marc Lore and Vinit Bharara. A graduate of Rutgers NCAS with a degree in Marketing, Mike has more than 20 years of experience in the service industry, including positions held at The Topps Company, Cablevision and the Liberty Science Center, where he helped establish all reservations and membership procedures prior to groundbreaking. In his spare time, he enjoys acting in community theater and spending time with his wife, Debbie, and their two daughters at their home in Oradell, New Jersey.
Vice President, Retail
David is in charge of Soap.com and VineMarket.com, which together encompass our health, beauty, household, personal care, and grocery categories. He and his team are responsible for setting the strategy and vision for these businesses, managing their day-to-day retail operations, driving top-line and bottom-line growth, and delivering financial results.
David joined the company in February 2010 as the first marketing hire on the Soap.com launch team. In that role, he oversaw the strategy and execution of Soap's brand and customer communications across acquisition and retention. In 2011, he was promoted to site leader of Wag.com. He built the team and led the successful launch of Wag that year. Under his management (2011-2013), Wag saw rapid growth and is now a leading online destination for pet supplies. David was made a member of the Quidsi management team in 2012 and given responsibility for Soap and Vine Market in 2013.
Prior to Quidsi, David worked at Limited Brands, where he managed the development of new products for Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works. He has also worked as a strategy consultant at Bain and BCG. David received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Harvard College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in economics.
Evangelia (Angie) Zorotheos
Angie serves as the General Counsel at Quidsi, overseeing the legal department and managing all legal matters for the company and its websites.
Prior to joining Quidsi, Angie served as Vice President/Assistant General Counsel in the Investment Banking division of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she led legal transactional efforts in mergers and acquisitions, structured finance and securities transactions. While there, she founded their worldwide Pro Bono Program (which earned an award from the New York Bar Association), and served on the Environmental Policy Task Force. Earlier in her career, Angie worked as an Associate Attorney with Shearman & Sterling LLP and as a Legal Consultant for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She also has extensive not-for-profit experience as a board member for Ubuntu Africa, NFP, an organization providing comprehensive care to HIV-positive children in South Africa, and as co-head and management committee member for the New York chapter of Room to Read, a group dedicated to educating children in developing countries in Asia and Africa.
Recently, Angie was named the 2013 winner of the Association of Corporate Counsel's Top 10 30-Somethings award, which recognizes in-house counsel who show outstanding achievement in their profession and community.
Angie received her Juris Doctor, as well as a master's degree in economics, from the University of Toronto. She graduated from York University, where she earned a BA degree, summa cum laude, in economics and business. Angie lives in Brooklyn, but has enjoyed traveling to far-flung locations, including Mount Kilimanjaro, the Himalayas and various destinations on five continents.
