Zoo Med Labs African Mopani Wood

This beautiful two-color African hardwood is for aquariums or terrariums. It has a smooth surface, textured detail and unique mottled color, which adds interest and enrichment to habitats. It is one of the hardest and densest woods available û it sinks immediately in aquariums and it will not rot. It has been sandblasted clean and is ready to be added to your terrarium. Remember all natural wood leaches tannins, which discolor water and reduce pH levels. To minimize this effect, soak the wood in a separate container and change the water daily to remove excess tannins. The wood will be ready when the water color turns from dark brown to very light. Adding extra carbon to your aquarium filter can also help remove any remaining discoloration.
