    Comments about Bolt Interactive Toy:

I raise siamese kittens and they are very playful, curious, affectionate, and demand my attention. For this reason they often get under my feet. The Frolicat BOLT laser toy has been a life-saver. It entertains my babies when I can't. They love it! I just turn it on and let "the babysitter" take over! One of the best toys I've ever bought.

      Comments about Bolt Interactive Toy:

This is a bad product that with an ounce of more ingenuity could have been spectacular.

The toy works by projecting a laser from inside the tower onto the mirror and then the floor. The laser is mounted on a small motor that allows the laser beam aperture to rotate around in a small circle inside the tower. The resultant effect is the laser beam moves in a small circle (roughly 4-6 inches) on the floor or wall (wherever it is pointed at). This gives the appearance of movement, but that's all the movement there is. It doesn't move on the X or Y axis, so imagine a laser that moves in a small 6 inch circle and that is all this toy does. The mirror has a manually adjustable pitch to allow you to move the beam on the Y axis by a couple of feet (depends on distance from reflective surface). But I have these interactive toys so I don't have to be present when the cats play. The device works on an on/off switch with timer delay for off, but it is not motion activated so if you want your cats to play with it, you'll have to turn it on and leave it on for them which runs the batteries down and contributes to premature laser failure.

My cats are unimpressed with the entire line of frolicat laser toys (I've tried them all) so don't waste your time or money with this.

If they added a motor actuator to the mirror and added a motion sensor to turn the thing on and off, it would be a great toy.

Comments about BOLT Laser Cat Toy:

You can play with your cat for sit it on table/floor for extra play. You can determine the place the laser will go. I can turn on while getting ready in am and let my kitty's have their fun then a little one on one before i go. Gives them plenty of attention and play in one. They love it. Great invention.

Comments about BOLT Laser Cat Toy:

I was excited to get this because my cat loves the little laser pointer and I figured she'd go crazy with this. The unit operates perfectly and the laser dot is a good size.

My cat is definitely attracted to it but because the light spends a lot of time moving in a small arc, she tends to crouch and watch it with her head, rather than chasing it. It can be used manually and she still prefers that to the automatic settings. She likes to chase it over longer distances, rather than small arcs. So, while it's much easier to use and takes double A batteries, rather than those little discs, I still have to do the work!

Comments about BOLT Laser Cat Toy:

This thing is a kick. Cats do get wise after a while that the "dot" isn't really catchable, but they still can't resist chasing it around the room. Terrific idea that really works as advertised.
