Comments about Raffia Toy - Mouse on a Stick:

It's not that my cats didn't love this out of the box... it's just that the flimsy string the toy mouse hangs gave way in less than 2 minutes.

The string is threaded thru a small hole in the wood wand; no way to rethread it.

Very annoyed & disappointed.

Don't these manufacturers expect your pet to actually play with these things?

Comments about Raffia Toy - Mouse on a Stick:

I have bought so many toys for my cat, but he refused to play with any of them. At most he would bat it around with his paw for a few minutes and then get bored. I even tried electronic/interactive ones.

The second I flung this toward him he chased it like a mad man. Don't know why....but he loves it. The string came off the stick two days after I bought i, but I just retied it and now it works fine. I'm thinking of increasing the string length.

Considering how much he plays with it and how much he chews on it, the mouse is holding up really well. I would definitely recommend this toy :)

Cats go nuts for this toy!

Comments about Raffia Toy - Mouse on a Stick:

Our two male cats are pretty payful normally, but they have never reacted to a toy like they did when we whipped out this "mouse on a stick." They went crazy and started jumping high and throwing themselves around to get hold of the mouse. The one cat who is usually more laid back and only participates in play occasionally was the most energetic, we could barely believe our eyes! Highly recommend. The only drawback (or maybe the main plus from a cat's perspective?) is that they can easily grab hold of the mouse because of the material, so play comes to a complete stop each time they grab hold of the mouse...

    Releases the Inner Tiger

Comments about Raffia Toy - Mouse on a Stick:

I've found that wand toys with a little object at the end work best with my kittens - the toys are more interactive and catch their attention immediately. Plush toys often lie on the floor forgotten after a minute or two of play. I have a wand toy with a little catnip-infused mouse with feathers attached which sends them scurrying around the apartment. I decided to get this particular toy on a whim as it is inexpensive, different, and adds to our repertoire of toys.

The first time the kittens played with this toy, then went CRAZY. It was like the inner tigers were released from within - they would jump over obstacles, scale the scratching post, and tear through the apartment in an attempt to catch the little mouse I dangle in front of them. Although it doesn't have catnip (I find that my cats are only somewhat affected by it), they love the little raffia mouse because it crinkles when they bat and chew at it. They actively tear at the little mouse with their mouth and try to bring it to a quiet corner to "eat". It seems like a pretty tough toy - it's held up so far to several days of my kittens trying to bat and gnaw the poor the little mouse apart. Even if it eventually wears out, it's a pittance to replace.

This toy has spurred me to search for similar toys (raffia mouses), but without a wand. This way they can play when I am out of the house and have to hide this toy.

      Kitty doesn't like it

Comments about Raffia Toy - Mouse on a Stick:

I like that it's environmentally friendly. The rod feels kind of rough, like it could have been sanded better. Main problem is that my cat just doesn't like it, although she likes most wand toys. She prefers toys that are squishy or chewy or bouncy or move in interesting ways, and this one doesn't do it for her, I guess.
